Hello,

My name is Adrian Carter (although most people know me as Adi). I am a Sheffield based musician/producer. I’ve had an equal love affair with music and technology for as long as I can remember so I guess it was inevitable that the two would cross paths at some point. Red Tape Studios in Sheffield laid the groundwork for me to pursue music and taught me a lot of the principles involved. Without them I wouldn’t have had an inkling of where to get started. With the help of the tutors I put together my very first recording setup and “had a go”. I continued my education at Sheffield University where I had access to their recording facilities and after I graduated I began recording for an experimental electronic label in Cumbria called Earth Monkey. In more recent years as well as my own material I have undertaken remixes for other people including Orbital, Amanda Palmer, Paloma Faith, Kimbra, James, Laura Doggett, Wet Nuns to name a few.

I have over twenty five releases to my name including a “crowd sourced” album called ‘Myths’. A retelling of the myths of ancient Greece using a global cast of voice artists which took a year to complete and was in many ways a template for ‘Meet Your Makers’ most of my releases are dance music based and  some have enjoyed radio support from the likes of Rob Da Bank and Toddla T (Radio 1), Nick Luscombe (Resonance), Ruth Barnes (Amazing) and a a variety of DJ’s on BBC regional and XFM.
